How are the ranges set?
Merchant cash advances typically advance about one month of revenue. Revenue based financing goes to one or two months. Online term lenders lend roughly 10% to 25% of annual revenue. Banks and SBA lenders size from free cash flow after existing debt, so that the new payment is covered with room to spare (a DSCR of 1.15 to 1.25). Time in business and credit then decide which doors are open. These are typical sizing rules, not a lender's decision.

Existing debt. Every dollar of monthly debt payment removes several dollars of bank and SBA capacity. Paying off a merchant cash advance before applying often raises what a bank will lend by more than the advance was worth. Time in business is the next gate: crossing two years opens banks and SBA. Credit score matters most under 600 and above 680.
