What is MCP, in plain terms?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to an outside service through a short, fixed list of actions, the way a printer driver lets any program print. When you connect your assistant to our MCP server, it gains a small set of abilities: read the documents you choose to share, fill the loan application, check it for gaps, match lenders, submit, and read the offers that come back.
It cannot do anything outside that list. It cannot move money, sign on your behalf, or reach data you did not share. The connection works the same whether you use Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok. The MCP server page has the technical details.
What does the assistant do, step by step?
Once connected, the assistant works through the same steps a good broker would, and it checks with you along the way.
- Collects documents. You share bank statements, tax returns and financial statements.
- Extracts the numbers. It reads revenue, average balances, existing debt payments and profit.
- Fills the application. It completes the business, owner and financing fields.
- Checks what is missing. It lists any gaps before anything is sent.
- Matches lenders. It compares your profile with lender criteria and tells you which are realistic.
- Submits with your approval. Nothing goes to a lender until you say so.
- Tracks offers. It summarizes the amount, cost, payment, term and guarantee of each.
The agent workflow page shows this in more detail.
What can the assistant not do?
It cannot change your financials. The numbers it submits are the numbers in your documents, and lenders verify them against bank statements and IRS transcripts anyway. It cannot guarantee approval, speed up a lender's underwriting, skip an appraisal, or sign the loan agreement; you do that. And it will not submit anything until you approve.
It also cannot make a weak file strong. If your cash flow does not support the payment, the assistant will tell you before you apply, which is useful, but it will not change the answer. Treat it as a diligent assistant that prepares a complete, accurate application, not as a way around business loan requirements. Approval is never guaranteed, by anyone.

Apply nowWhat should you prepare before you ask?
Gather the same documents you would for any application: the last three to six months of business bank statements as PDFs, two years of business and personal tax returns, a year to date profit and loss statement and balance sheet, and a list of your existing loans. The document checklist has the full list, and how agents handle documents explains what the assistant reads from each.
Then decide three things the assistant will ask: how much you need, what it is for, and how fast you need it. If you are not sure which product fits, say so. Ready made prompts are on the prompts page.
How do you connect your assistant?
Each assistant has its own way to add an MCP connection, and each takes a few minutes. In Claude you add our server as a connector; the other assistants have a similar step under a different name. The setup pages walk through each one: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok. Developers using Claude Code or Cursor have their own pages on the agents hub.
When you connect, you sign in to your account on this site and approve the connection. From then on, you talk to the assistant in plain language: tell it you want to apply for a business loan, share the documents, answer its questions, review the application it drafts, and approve the submission.
How are your data and consent handled?
The connection uses OAuth, the same consent system you use when you sign in to a service with your Google or Microsoft account. You grant the assistant access to your account on this site, you see what it can do before you agree, and you can revoke that access at any time, which cuts it off immediately. Lenders see your documents only when you submit.
Your assistant provider has its own data practices for the conversation itself, so check how it handles uploaded files and share only what the application needs. The security page for agents explains the permissions in detail, and our privacy policy covers how we store and protect your data.
